Recording Grant Policy

1.
The
award is called the Bulkley Valley Community Arts Council (BVCAC) Recording
Grant. The purpose of the award is to provide financial support for

Any
person or group may apply in writing to the BVCAC for a grant and/or loan. The
application letter must include a detailed recording plan, budget, distribution
and marketing plans. Demo CD’s, reviews, references, past performances, and
participation in our local music scene should be included.
3.
Funds
are to be applied only to the project specified in the application.
4.
The
BVCAC has the right to monitor the progress of the project to which funds were
awarded.
5.
A
maximum grant of $1500.00 (total among all applicants) is available each year.
6.
Submissions
should be received by March 31st. The BVCAC (or designated
committee) will take into account the following when considering a grant
application:
§
Benefit
to the arts community, including degree of activity, and whether the
performer(s) are from within the community
§
Degree
of need, and whether other funding sources are available
§
Structure
of the applicant/group, meaning amateur or professional
§
Does
the proposal contribute to the Arts Council’s charitable purposes?
§
Past
support from the BVCAC.
7.
The
recipient of a grant will agree to the following:
§
To
use the money in accordance with the BVCAC’s charitable objectives.
§
If
requested, provide the BVCAC with a final report and/or financial statement
signed by the person responsible for finances.
